ORGANIZATIONAL WEBSITE REFRESH

Collaborate with traffic signal entrepreneur to refresh website in order to highlight efficacy of new software developed by the company

LA County accounts for 30% of California's road fatalities and injuries, making it the state's most dangerous area for road users. Without a good public transportation system to get people from point A to point B, many people find it difficult to get around without a car and spend more than half their time stuck in traffic.

As a freelancer, I collaborated with an entrepreneur who started his own traffic signal company in collaboration with the city of Los Angeles, to more clearly understand his vision. I conducted a stakeholder interview, performed a competitive analysis of existing companies on the market, and redesigned the website for ConnectedSignals, a company that provides intelligent traffic signal information, prediction, and control.

LA County accounts for 30% of California's road fatalities and injuries, making it the state's most dangerous area for road users. Without a good public transportation system to get people from point A to point B, many people find it difficult to get around without a car and spend more than half their time stuck in traffic.

The revamped ConnectedSignals platform is a website that allows users both from and outside the traffic and city planning industries to understand how to make their city safer through using ConnectedSignals products and technologies.

In the redesign process for ConnectedSignals, I employed generative AI technologies to enhance and streamline our design efforts. This AI tool played a crucial role in synthesizing and analyzing existing user interactions, competitor designs, and market trends. It enabled rapid prototyping by generating design elements and layout suggestions that align with modern UX/UI standards, significantly reducing the time needed for iterative design processes.

Generative AI also facilitated the creation of personalized user experiences by predicting user preferences and behaviors based on collected data. This approach ensured that the design changes were not only aesthetically pleasing but also user-centric and data-driven, providing a tailored experience that anticipates and meets user needs more effectively.

Adaptive Personalization: Design the website to adapt content and features based on user behavior, preferences, and historical data.

Community Engagement: Build features that allow for user feedback, collaboration, and community-driven content, turning the website into a living ecosystem that evolves with its user base.

Universal Accessiblity: Design the website to adapt content and features based on user behavior, preferences, and historical data.

I conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis to evaluate ConnectedSignals’ market position relative to key competitors: Miovision, INRIX, and Lyt.ai. This analysis involved gathering data on a set of predetermined features crucial for traffic management technologies. We focused on each company's unique offerings and market strategies, using generative AI to aggregate and synthesize data efficiently from multiple sources, including company websites, user reviews, and industry reports. The results, detailed in the accompanying table, highlight areas where ConnectedSignals excels and where there are opportunities for improvement.

FINAL DESIGNS

landing page

The user experience on the ConnectedSignals platform starts with a welcoming headline that invites users to discover how the service makes urban infrastructure smarter. Below the headline, users can directly engage with clearly segmented options for different traffic solutions, each illustrated by descriptive icons and succinct explanations, encouraging them to learn more or request a demo through prominent calls to action.

The ConnectedSignals platform page begins with a powerful mission statement: "We aim to make streets safer for everyone." Highlighted by a dynamic cityscape image, the page explains the integration of AI and ML algorithms to enhance urban traffic systems. Users are invited to explore how these advanced technologies reduce congestion and increase safety, with a prominent 'Learn More' button that leads to further information about the practical applications and benefits of ConnectedSignals' innovative solutions.

Users are guided to explore detailed sections for each product, each accompanied by concise descriptions and supporting visuals, and are encouraged to interact through calls to action that lead to more in-depth information or contact options.
